These terms and conditions govern the Switch to Mama Money Card & WIN organized and promoted by Mama Money (Pty) Ltd (reg. no. 2013/022174/07) (“Mama Money”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a licensed financial service provider governed by South African financial regulations and the Competition Act 89 of 1998. Entering the competition and/or your acceptance of the prize constitutes your binding acceptance of these terms and conditions. All information relating to this competition and any information we publish on any promotional material forms part of these terms and conditions.
The competition will start on 01 June 2026 and will run until 30 June 2026 (the “Competition Period”). The first competition winner will be drawn weekly and announced on Mama’s social media channels. This commencement date is 08 June 2026.
You are eligible to participate in this competition if (i) you are a natural person who is at least 18 years old and who resides in South Africa; and (ii) it is lawful for you to be awarded the prize. Employees, directors, partners, agents, or consultants of Mama Money or its affiliates, and their spouses, life partners, siblings, children or parents, are not eligible to enter this competition.
A participant must buy/ sign up/ activate a new Mama Money Card obtained from participating Pick n Pay stores nationally or from a Mama Money Agent. Additionally, one must add money to the card via salary payment, receive funds into their card or load cash, during the campaign period. These actions are valid for new card users only.
By entering, you agree to provide accurate information and comply with FICA and AML regulations. Mama Money reserves the right to verify the identity of participants and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
There are no entry fees to participate in the competition, and no additional charges beyond the cost of using Mama Money services.
Qualifiers will be entered into a lucky draw and chosen via software. Participants will have the opportunity to win a share of 60 Entertainment & Grocery Vouchers valued at R500 each. Home kitchen appliances: 5 x Fridge, 10 x Microwaves, 10 x Air Fryers. The grand prize includes: 3 x Lifan Motorcycle CG-Express 175cc in White or Black. Winners of the motorcycle are to send the following paperwork to Mama Money & its partners and provide the following so that we can register and license the vehicle into the respective new owner's name:
IF SOUTH AFRICAN to send (i) ID and (ii) POA - proof of address (not older than 3-months).
IF FOREIGN NATIONAL WITHOUT SA ID, the following needs to be provided:
(i) Traffic Register Document (TRNC)
(ii) Proof of Address/Utility Bill
(iii) ORIGINAL passport along with Copy of Visa (inside Passport). If Asylum papers instead of VISA, then we need a “BI1707” (unexpired Refugee ID) issued from Home Affairs.
Winners can nominate a representative to claim the prize on their behalf i.e. the prize is transferable. An appointed Mama Money partner will handle the transfer of ownership and provide winners with original title deeds and vehicles.
You are required to obtain your own tax advice about any prize you may receive in terms of these terms and conditions. Mama Money and its affiliates are not responsible for any tax consequences.
The winners will be drawn randomly from all valid entries received. The winner will be contacted via the email address or contact details associated with their Mama Money account and must provide any information requested by Mama Money within 72 hours of Mama Money’s request to claim the prize. Winners will be announced weekly on social media i.e. Facebook.
A winner may be disqualified if they do not comply with these terms and/or fail to provide required documentation within 72 hours of Mama Money requesting the documentation. If we are unable to contact the winner or the winner fails to respond within 72 hours of receiving notification from Mama Money, the winner will forfeit the prize, and we reserve the right to draw a new winner under the same conditions.
By entering, you consent to be part of marketing and promotional activities, including social media posts for announcing the names of winners, for which no fee, royalty or other compensation will be payable. You have the right to decline consent or participation in the marketing and promotion activities. Should you wish to decline, you are required to notify Mama Money by way of email.
You authorise Mama Money to use and process your personal information for purposes of conducting this competition and to comply with the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. This competition is conducted in terms of the applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any information you provide to us is accurate, complete, and up to date. Should any of the information provided by yourself in connection with this competition be invalid, inaccurate, false or misleading, your entry shall be disregarded.
All aspects of this competition are governed by South African law, including financial and competition regulations. Mama Money is committed to maintaining compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances or if required by law, Mama Money reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend or cancel the competition and any prize, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason we deem necessary. In the event of such variation, postponement, suspension, or cancellation, you agree to waive any rights, interests, and expectations that you may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that you will have no recourse against Mama Money, its affiliates and employees, directors, partners, agents and consultants.
By participating, you agree to these terms and conditions, which are governed by South African law. If there is a dispute in respect of these terms or the competition, our decision is final and binding.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Mama Money harmless for any loss or damage you may suffer as it relates to your participation in this competition. This means you cannot hold Mama Money responsible for any loss or damage or legal expenses you may incur due to your participation in this competition.
17. Liability
Mama Money is not liable for any loss or damages that may occur as a result of entering or participating in this competition. We (including our directors, shareholders, partners, agents, employees and consultants) and our affiliates will not be responsible for any harm, damage, loss, or claim relating to the provision of any element of the prize or any changes to the prize that may be made at any time. You agree that your participation in the competition, and your acceptance and/or use of the prize, or any aspect thereof, is at your own risk.
Mama Money will not be held liable for any loss or misrepresentations caused due to a copy error, typing error and/or omission that may occur on any of the competition material.
