How does my recipient get the cash in Democratic Republic of Congo

Once your Mama Money order has been paid for. You and your recipient will receive an SMS with a reference number. Your recipient will require identification and will need to present this reference number at the cash collection location to receive their money.

How do I pay for my order?

You can choose to pay for your order via online banking or EFT. You can also pay with cash at any of our retail partners such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar, Makro, Game, Flash stores, etc. If you pay with cash, you will receive a reference number in an SMS that we’ll send to you. Present this reference number to our retailer partners and pay the exact amount of cash to complete your order.

How long will it take for my money to arrive in Democratic Republic of Congo?

Transfers to mobile wallets and cash collection are sent within minutes. Transfers to bank accounts, on average, take 5 hours to be received but can take up to 48 hours to reflect, depending on the recipient’s institution.

Why is my transaction to the Democratic Republic of Congo not working?

  1. If you are sending to a mobile wallet it is most likely failing as your recipient does not have the correct verification. Your recipient must verify their account with an ID at the nearest office before they can receive money. Once done, you can send successfully
  2. If you sending via Cash Pickup your recipient needs to redeem the money with the code sent to you and them. There ID document name needs to match exactly to what you entered as the recipient details.

How much money can I send to Democratic Republic of Congo via Mama Money?

Once your account is activated, you can send up to R25,000 per order and up to R25,000 per month. You can also upgrade your account to send higher limits of up to R50,000 per order and R100,000 per month. Select the “Increase Limits” button in the Mama Money app to upgrade your account.
